The drift check
Name the people you would hate to lose touch with. Two questions each. You get a clear picture of who is drifting, one small idea per person, and a rhythm that fits.
Questions
What counts as "really talked"?
A real exchange: a call, a voice note, a few messages back and forth, a visit. A like or a forwarded meme does not count, and you already know that.
Why only five people?
Research on close relationships keeps landing on a small inner circle of about five people who get most of our attention. Keeping five close is a realistic habit; keeping fifty is a job.
What does "drifting" mean here?
The gap since you last talked is more than twice the rhythm you would like. Nothing is broken; it is simply time for a hello. "Might be missing you" means the gap is between one and two times your rhythm.
Do you store my people?
No. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere. If you want to keep the list and get the reminders, that is what the app is for.
Keep these people close, for real
This is exactly how Kinroot starts: your people, a rhythm for each, and one gentle nudge a day at most. Then every hello makes the bond grow.
