Kinroot exists so the people you have drifted from can bloom back into your life.
I am Rodrigo Gaete. A few years after moving to Spain I noticed that my closest relationships had quietly thinned out. Nobody fell out with anybody. We simply stopped being in each other's weeks. The guilt of "it has been too long" made every message harder to send, which made the silence longer.
Kinroot is the tool I wanted then: pick the few people who matter most, get one gentle nudge a day at most, reach out your way (WhatsApp, a call, a voice note), and watch the bond with that person grow a little each time. The plant is the game; the person is the point.
The rules it follows
- People first. Every message in the app is about a person, never about a streak or a score.
- No guilt. Nothing wilts, nothing dies, nothing goes red. A person you have not spoken to in a while "might be missing you", and one hello brings everything back.
- At most five people. Research on close relationships keeps landing on a small inner circle. Kinroot is built for it, not for a contact list.
- Nothing leaves your phone. No account, no server, no sync. Your people, notes and history live on your iPhone only.
- Fun along the way. Small ideas and monthly challenges, because fun is what keeps people consistent.
Who makes it
Kinroot is built in Spain by a team of one, with help from testers in Spain, Latin America and the United States. It is a paid app (30 days free, then a small subscription) so that the only person it has to please is you.
